Five for Friday - Short and Sweet!

Today I am linking up for Five for Friday with a short and sweet post! :)
We celebrated Red Ribbon Week at school this past week. I saw lots of cute socks on "Sock it to Drugs" day!
We also had a "Dress like your hero" day. I loved how this student created her own cape with her "heros and sheros".
We completed our October STEM challenge. Our question was, "Do you think the number of seeds in a pumpkin is related to the size of the pumpkin?" Our pumpkin had 840 seeds!
Last night I dressed up with my son as a Ninja Turtle and enjoyed trick or treating!
And this is what I look and feel like today...haha! 16 meetings this week, arriving at school by 6:30-6:45 and staying until after 5:00 everyday, being a single mommy most of the week, Fall Festival at church, Halloween, and one very stressful day in the midst of that....whew, I am tired!

  3. Lady you are SUPERWOMAN. I sure hope you didn't get into costume on Superhero Day because there was no need. I'm so glad you were able to cross all of those meetings off your list as well as surviving this week!

  6. Hello Lana!

My name is Elizabeth Barnett and I am an elementary education student at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, AL. For my Educational Media class (EDM 310 -Microcomputing Systems) I will be reviewing two of your posts on my EDM 310 blog in approximately two weeks.

As the others have you said, you are the Superwoman! I loved seeing your class' red ribbon week activities; the school that I observe at did many of the same dress-up days. One girl even dressed up as the teacher on hero day, which I thought was so sweet. I also liked your pumpkin seeds activity. Great job bringing the season into the classroom!

Thanks for sharing! Hope November is a little less stressful for you!

    Sincerely,
    Elizabeth Barnett

It seems that you are a very busy woman. Your class got very creative with Red Ribbon week. I loved the hero cape. I also loved your pumpkin seed activity. It looks like you really got your class engaged in this activity. I love all the pictures you added to your blog post. When I got to the end, I just wanted to keep reading!

I hope things slow down for you.

  8. Hey! I'm Breanna and I am an elementary education major at the University of South Alabama. I also chose your blog as my teacher blog for the week. I LOVE your blogger profile. I think it is so cute and kid friendly. I have siblings in elementary school and they did the same kind of activities for drug free week too. I think it is cute to let kids enjoy days like this, but also teach them something good.

I sure would be tired if I was you too. I've heard that is what comes with being a teacher. Hope you get some rest. :)

  13. Hello Lana,

I am an aspiring teacher and a student in Dr. Strange's EDM310 class at the University of South Alabama. I love the creativity of your blog and I enjoy your humor and personality that is shown throughout your posts. Kudos to you for surviving such a seemingly hectic week! My favorite things about this post are the cape made by the student and your son's Ninja Turtle costume. I find the cape to be very unique, especially with the hand drawn pictures of real life heroes and sheroes instead of cartoon characters. I also love your son's costume because as a child raised in the 90s and early 2000s, TMNT was one of my favorite shows to watch. I hope you get some rest this week! Feel free to view my blog, I also have link on the right of my blog that leads to my class' blog. Take care!
