Yall, I have been on a shopping spree lately! Between all that I showed you on my last post + this...and I haven't even bought the basics yet! Yikes. I couldn't pass up these deals though. Although I am totally out of room for more books (my bookshelves are 110% FULL), I couldn't resist these books. The ones below are from Goodwill and yard sales. They were in the price range of $0.25-$1.99.
Have any of you read/heard of these Thoroughbred books? I picked up quite a few, but there were TONS more. Are they any good??
I also went by another teacher store and bought two sets of cards, Inference and Main Idea, border, and name tags. Since we've already got our class roster, I went ahead and made name tags for helpers and our ambassador!
I just purchased the inference and main idea cards. I can't wait to get them in the mail. Great find on all of your books!

Love the blue name plates. Those will fit so well with your theme. I see clearance stickers on some of those things and you simply CAN NOT pass up clearance items. It had to be done. :) Enjoy all your new books and fabulous finds!

That's So Second Grade
WOW, Lana:
ReplyDeleteI use those same cards for test prep. The sixth graders liked them!
I had several girls reading the Thoroughbred books one year. There might be a boyfriend or some kissing... I seem to remember giggling...
We have an Ambassador in my room too. What does yours do? Welcome new students? Ours introduces guests (when we know them) and asks their name and purpose (when we don't). Your printing is perfect, by the way!
Enjoy your "Getting Ready" time. And thanks for stopping my blog earlier today. I always love to hear from you!
