Setting up my Binders

On a totally unrelated note, I got my class roster today!  Woohoo!  I can go ahead and work on name plates, folders, etc.

Today I wanted to talk about setting up my binders.  This year I am taking a different route and am going to have two binders:  one for me and one for student data.
Last year I had one large binder with my stuff and student data in it and my lesson plans in another.  It worked, but I didn't just love it.  This year I hope this change will make finding and organizing paperwork and documentation a little easier.

First, let me show you the different parts of my teacher binder:

1) Small Group Instruction - This is where I will keep small group documentation and where I document which groups I work with.

2) Dominee Data & Info -  We have several Dominee forms and copies of the student agreement sheet that I will keep here.

3) Yearly Calendar - This will hold our school district calendar.  I am always needing to look at dates, so I think this addition to my binder will be helpful.

4) Faculty Meeting Notes - Self explanatory

5) PLC Meeting Notes - Again, self explanatory

6) Lesson Plans - Our lesson plans are printed off weekly.  We use Oncourse Systems and I love it!

7) MAP Testing - This will hold forms related to our computerized MAP tests.
I don't have pictures from my student binder because right now, it's pretty empty.  I will have a tab for each student.  Inside each tab every student will have a:

1) Gold Form - This is a form we use as an entire school.  At the top it has student information that the parent fills out.  At the bottom we have a place to document parent communication.

2) Individual MAP scores

3) Individual Dominee data

  4. Yep, I love how organized you are too! This is my goal this summer. I've already been putting math stations into binders. Slowly working on my lesson plans too. I like the student data binder too... I have a feeling that this is something I'll definitely be needing in the next few years... :)
